ABOUT US
We believe that good oral health is vital for a child's development, and we understand that going to the dentist makes some children nervous. We're here to help every step of the way. We provide a positive environment where children can be themselves, have some fun, and get to know our doctor. We take pride in creating and maintaining beautiful and healthy smiles for our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We focus on establishing oral health habits that last a lifetime, with education and prevention as our primary tools
Led by board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr Romero believes in creating a positive relationship with the dentist early on. Treating each child as an individual and putting their needs first does more than make your child feel comfortable going to the dentist. Conveniently located at Woodmont Professional Center, in Tamarac (near The Tamarac Elementary School) the practice is dedicated to ensuring every child that walks through the door receives high-quality dental care, respect, and support in a safe, nurturing environment.
OUR SERVICES
Dental Cleaning and Exams
Visiting a pediatric dentist for a comprehensive exam and cleaning is essential. We provide a dental cleaning of the teeth, provide a thorough exam and discuss any concerns and or special areas to focus on at home with your child
Preventive Treatments
Our goal is to prevent dental issues from arising before it is too late. The AAPD recommends that your child should be seen no later than 6 months after their first tooth erupts from the gum.
Digital X-rays
X-rays make it possible to monitor the status of developing teeth and detect disease. We use digital x-rays which have reduced radiation and help discover dental issues not visible to the naked eye.
Restorative Treatments
Restorative dentistry restores the strength and beauty of your child’s smile. Through improved techniques and modern technology, we are now able to offer more options for restoring primary teeth and permanent teeth back to their normal shape, appearance and function.
Extractions
There may be some circumstances where extracting a tooth is the best treatment for your child. However, you can rest assured that if it's needed, it is to protect your child’s oral health and well-being. We make every effort to ensure your son or daughter’s comfort if extraction is necessary, and we’re here to guide you through the recovery process from start to finish.
Emergency Treatment
We strive to accommodate all dental emergencies and treat some of the most common ones. If your child has a dental emergency, we are always available to help. During business hours, call our office. If it is after hours or you get our message, please listen to it for further instructions. Our doctor or team members are always on call and will return your call promptly.
Sedation Dentistry
We speak to your child in a gentle voice and avoid the use of words that could induce fear. We also show your child our tools and explain what they are used for before doing anything. Even with all of these steps, your child may still feel anxious or be unable to sit still. Sedation dentistry allows your pediatric dentist to provide a variety of dental treatments safely and comfortably for children who experience anxiety when visiting the dentist.
Special Health Care Needs
Dr Romero has received extensive training in Behavior Management focuson both Basic and Advanced Behavior Guidance. Having this training gave her a first hand experience with children that had significant special needs. If your child has special needs, Dr. Romero is trained to adapt treatment as needed to accommodate your child
